Sula makes me smile.... every single day. We simply adore her and her enthusiastic approach to life. Nobody is sad when Sula is around.
Due to covid restrictions Sula had rather a alternative upbringing, with trips to Tesco's as a young puppy, providing vital socialisation - as it was the only place we could take her during lockdown! Despite this rather unconventional approach, Sula has developed and grown up into rather a delightful adult, who is comfortable in a multitude of different situations, around different people, dogs and noisy environments.
Sula attended her first champ show in July 2021. At subsequent shows, under specialist Labrador breed judges, Sula has been awarded numerous placings, against some very nice bitches. She qualified for Crufts 2022, 23 and 24, and was placed 2nd in a large graduate class at Crufts in 2023.
Sula enjoys gundog training, and has her grade 1 and grade 2 awards with the Gundog Club. Despite a rather enthusiastic 'adolescent' to start to her gundog career, she is developing into a mature, steady and biddable bitch who really enjoys her work.
Scentwork, however is Sula's forte. She has competed in Scentwork UK Trials, and has qualified up to Level 5 so far. She was also one of the top winning dogs in the National Nosework Association annual awards 2023, winning 6th place overall in Team of the year (out of over 128 dogs), and achieved a 3rd place overall in the gundog league. She is currently competing at Excellent level with the top winning dogs in the country. I am incredibly proud of her achievements, especially given she is competing against working bred dogs.
